How can I get apps for my phone?

I got a new phone and put in my old SD card. How do I get my old apps that were installed on my old phone?

    SD cards cannot hold data. It is merely a card that the phone uses to connect to the network. You can sometimes get contacts from the SIM but the apps will have to be re-downloaded.
