Nobody "gave" the money to the rich, it's theirs, they earned it, or they inherited it, in which case their families earned it, gave it to their heirs, now it's theirs. Jealous? Silly question, of course you are, you said so in your rant. Do you think you should, for some reason, be entitled to TAKE (or have someone take for you) some of what they own for yourself? P.S. Nobody said 50% of the population is living in poverty, it has been said that 50% are on some type of public entitlement program, welfare, food stamps... Some of these legitimately need a hand up until they get on their feet again...NOBODY needs, deserves, or should be allowed to get a handout for the rest of their lives.

The big flaw in your understanding of socioeconomics is you have the misguided idea that wealth is like some big pie, moved around or "taken" from others. It is not. It doesn't work like that. Wealth is created. There hasn't been income tax cuts since 2003, so you can drop that victim/exploitation angle. The problem is that the up escalator of upward mobility has been effectively shut down with the almost criminal sluggish recovery that has been going on for almost 5 years now. American recoveries are supposed to start, sharply, soon after a recession is over. That recession was over July 2009. THIS is why median income has dropped for the first time since the Great Depression. This is why the poverty rate has significantly increased for the first time the Great Depression. This is why the welfare rolls have increased. Don't try to pin ANY of this on the rich. That's just misguided scape goatism to hide the failure of the kind of far Left Progressive Liberal socioeconomics Obama and other eat up. FDR did too, which is why the effects of the Great Depression lingered on for so long. The Depression was actually over in 1933 BTW, sound familiar?
