Well, what are you interested in? There is a lot of history in the South (the Civil War stuff). Go to Washington, D.C. and maybe do some research about places you might be interested in. How about Salem, Massachusetts, where the witches were burned? It is such a vast country! I would avoid places like the middle of the country. Too much driving and nothing there.

You will not get a visa for a year. There is a 90 day tourist visa. I would look at New Orleans, The South Carolina coast: Charleston Washington DC, Chicago Public transportation is not that great in the USA, amtrack- train megabus/ greyhound buses To Drink-age 21 To rent a car- 25 To check into a hotel room- 21 at most - 18 at some You will need a credit card in your name.
