How can i ship something to the post office instead of my house?

Buying a gift for my dad and can't let him be home when it's delivered. Any suggestions?

You can try to have it sent to you with General Delivery in your city as the address. Then you would have to go to the main post office to pick it up there will not be a notification when your package arrives. See the post office site here for details: https://www.usps.com/manage/forward-mail.htm . The shipper may not ship to General Delivery though. You can also rent a post office box at the Post Office or at UPS and have the item delivered there. You can also have it shipped to a friend's home instead of your house.

Ask at the post office if you can ship to a General Post Office box (GPO Box) and how to do it. They may or may not have the capablity. Your other option is to go to a local UPS store and talk to them. They accept packages but you might have to have a account set up with them.
