What is a good first longboard?

Good first longboard for a beginner?(cruising)?

  • I'm thinking about learning how to longboard. What cheap but good quality longboard would suit me? I'm a 5 foot 7 130 pound kid.

  • Answer:

You say you want to cruise, and for cruising i would look at the following brands: Loaded, original, sector 9, etc. I would look at pintails. On the other hand, if you want a more well rounded board (one you can dh and free ride with if you get really good) i would suggest something with very little flex, relatively short, and symmetrical. Also i agree with caleb, if you can get a used one it will be cheap, and you can probably try it before buying it, making it a better option

If you want something under 100 I say buy one off craigslist or from a kid at your school. 100-150 get one from sanclementelongboards.com 150+ you can search through Boston sector nine or my personal favorite original skateboards for something to ride. Find something with like 9 ply or 8 cause it would be easier to ride without flex
