I swim in lakes all the time. I prefer lakes. Where I live (New Hampshire) the lakes that have a state or town beach are tested a couple times a year.

Actually, unless posted, most lakes are safe. Toxins are in EVERYTHING. However, if you are healthy, they will not harm you. Arsenic is in apples, Bananas are radioactive, the list goes on.

99.9% of lakes and streams are never tested for toxins. You swim at your own risk.
