1 and 1/5 is 1 1/5, of course.... but what is the whole number you wish to divide it by? Eg 1 1/5 divided by 4: Express the mixed number fraction as an improper fraction ie top-heavy : 1 1/5 = 6/5, then Express the whole number as a fraction ie 4/1 then you have: 6/5 divided by 4/1: To divide fractions, reverse the second fraction and MULTIPLY: 6/5 x 1/4 = 6/20 = 3/10
