Good rim brakes on a £400 bike beat bad disc brakes on a bike costing the same price. Both these Scott bikes are priced the same. But the bike without disc brakes has much better specs. Think about it carefully. Your question is confusing. Will you be riding on or off road? Or a combination of both? Is the rugged terrain on the road? Or off? By the way, good rim brakes are better than cheap disc brakes. Lighter too.
