I really want to be a nurse.

I want to be a neonatal nurse practitioner but I suck at math... Really suck at math.?

  • I really want to be a Neonatal nurse Practitioner level 2. I love babies ! But I suck at math! I'm so bad at it. What kind of math do you need , and will it effect my future...?

  • Answer:

First, you have to know that many math books are really badly written, the high school texts actually leave out important material so that the "teacher has something left to teach". To start out with, assuming you already know how to add, subtract, multiply and divide, then you should get the Barron's book "Geometry the EZ Way". Cover at least the first 150 pages, working most of the problems. The high school and college algebra textbook prices seem to be fixed, they don't allow well written cheap texts to be out there, it is like North Korean censorship (for money). So I suggest that you get the dry Schaum's Ouline of Elementary Algebra. I have not seen this particular book, I know the College Algebra edition (of years ago) is well written but very dry. Wade throught this stuff and you will be ready for Nursing class math.
