    When not deployed, Soldiers train for deployment. They go to ranges and on field exercise and perform maintenance on their equipment. Every unit's mission and operational tempo are different. Even with Soldiers of the same MOS but in different units, maybe only one has time to take classes and the other doesn't. If you're someone who can't do online classes and needs to be in an actual classroom with a professor, your class options will be limited even further.

If you want to be able to do the most college classes, you'd want an office job. You can work on your courses right there at your desk when it isn't busy (maybe...depends on your boss of course. But most are supportive of education).
