Who is eligible to send an invitation letter to visit Italy?

I want to visit my brother-in-law in the US, can he send me an invitation letter?

    Invitation are not required to visit the US ... they all fake anyway they are never read you apply for a visa at the US Consulate.. you fail to give you nationality ..so cannot advise if you may be successful but you need to be a high earner

A U.S. visa officer is more interested in documents that show that you are compelled to leave the U.S. after your visit than in documents showing what you plan to do in the U.S. A statement of university enrollment and when the next term starts and your marriage certificate will be more helpful. You could add an invitation letter which shows that you don't need a hotel and lots of funds but this will actually be of more interest by the U.S. CPB officer at the port of entry to the U.S. once you have gotten your visa.
