How to play pc games with an xbox 360 controller?

I bought batman arkham city for the pc and ive seen people play it with an xbox 360 controller. I want to do it too but I dont know how.

You'll have to have a wired controller. Just plug the USB into whatever slot it is and you should be ably to use it. The game has to be compatible though, but arkham city I'm sure is.
