Where Is Canadians Start Their Day?

Where in the history Spring had to start 20 days after start of a month? What if January 1st is adjusted to begin with the first day of the Winter?

  • I admit that I had a hard time to learn Gregorian calendar and I call for a change. I learned however, the question still remain. Where in the history who said that?, and why not put thirty or thirty one marble (days) in a jar and call it a month. Then pack every three jar together and call it a season. Finally put four packs (seasons) in a box and call it a year. As easy as ABC I learned Persian solar calendar when I was a child. Is there someone to explain why is the need of every two other jar to share 10 marble (days) from one and 20 marble (days) from another month to go in for a season. Always have to deal with four months in a season and confuse a poor me child? There are only three months is a season not more. Just start the first month of a season with the first day of the month to arrange your pack tidily in Gregorian solar year by teaching three months for every season. I promise the world would not come to an end.

  • Answer:

There are so many different ways and reasons to measure the days of a year. Mostly, calendars were invented so people would know when to plant crops, or to keep track of when different types of wild foods became available. Seasons are another thing altogether. Only certain places on the globe have4 seasons. Along the equator the weather is consistent the whole year long.
