  I would sand the furniture and paint it all white. also paint the wooden band in the middle ( do you like the red ) red so it disappears.. Or paint all the wall red which should pop with the white furniture. Make curtains with a cool red and white material. Do your decorates the opposite of the wall. You might even add a small amount of black in your decorations. Besure you paint the trim and doors white.
