    A neurologist usually is more like a 'trouble shooter/planner' - they rarely do surgeries (neuro surgeons do operations) A neurologist will often diagnose people with neurological disorders & do research & they often 'plan' surgerical procedures for the surgeons. Make sure it's definitely what you want as a career before you embark on it - not only are the university places hard to get sometimes due to demand - it may be a lot of study for nothing if you find it's not like you imagined it to be... But, it has many positives - it's a very rewarding field of medicine - it's different every day!! Good luck!
