  You may get used to the smell (happens pretty quickly) Also, perfume sometimes smells different on different people once it mixes with your natural scent. (Ever bought a perfume, put it on, and a minute later it stinks? that's what happened) but this sounds more like you've just gotten used to the smell. I usually put it on my neck, behind ears, and on wrists. That's enough that anyone close will smell it but you won't be that annoying jerk who you can smell from across the room.
