How Long Does The Average Fever Last With No Antibiotics?

How long does fever typically last for a 3 year old child with strep, once on antibiotics? We started antibiotics 2 1/2 days ago.?

So if your child's fever has not gone down at all by day 3, you may consider speaking the doctor. I agree with boraturbo that the fever should ave resolved within 48 hrs after beginning antibiotics. Strep is usually very sensitive to penicillin or amoxicillin, and if the fever hasn't subsided, a different antibiotic should be considered.
