  Your teeth will move for the rest of your life. Some people's move a little. Some people's move a lot. The only way that your gaps will remain closed is to wear a retainer. Wearing your braces longer or wearing specific appliances = will not help keep your teeth straight and aligned for the long term. See if you can wear a permanent retainer (it requires EXCELLENT dental hygiene or your teeth will decay around the wire) to reduce your need for the retainer.
