  For practicing you don't need an actual flag and flag pole. All you need is a pole and a piece of cloth about the size of a pillow case. So look around you for poles. When people clean uo their yards for spring they often trim trees. Find a straight branch of suitable length and ask your Mom for an old pillow case or piece of an old sheet. You can practice with that. And over the summer make it a point to stop at garage sales. Sometimes you can find a flag and pole at one. I got a flag and pole big enough to put on my house for about $20 for both.
