What should I expect at a six flags interview?

Hi i have an interview at six flags. What questions should i expect?how long does the interview will take?

  • This is my first job interview and im really nervous please be specific and the position is lifeguard.

  • Answer:

Six flags will set up a lifeguard training date for you so you don't have to know anything about lifeguarding. You will do a group interview with about four people per group to loosen things up a bit. Trust me it helps with the nerves. They'll ask you easy questions like: "What brought you to six flags?" "What do you hope to gain from six flags?" "What does safety mean to you?" "What does customer service mean to you?" You'll want to prepare and go over answers to the types of questions (they can really tell when someone isn't prepared and hasn't thought about the interview). It's easy going and they really just want you to answer the questions honestly. After the interview they'll have your group play Jenna to show your teamwork skills and how you interact with others. After Jenna they will pull some aside and tell them they're not being hired. Those who are left get the job and will be taken to do some paper work and to set up a training date. Lasts about two hours total.

I supervised the emergency management dept., so I worked with the life guards/Aquatics managers and kids on occasion. It's hard to say don't be nervous, but it's going to be pretty easy. Many times the interviewer is young so they know the struggles that kids go through. A couple things to be prepared to answer: How long have you been swimming for/do you have any experience? What would you do if your heard/saw thunder lightning? You pull a child out of the water that isn't breathing. What steps do you take? Keep him on a flat surface, Administer CPR, have someone else call for backup/a Manager, etc. What hours do you want to work? Say Any necessary to fill staffing needs. If you are working at the bottom of a slide with a pool and need to shut it down quickly, how do you alert the guard at the top? The real answer is that you'll have a walkie talkie handy, but no one tells you that =) Do you have first aid/cpr certifications? Even if you don't, don't say no- say "it's expired, but I will update it" Are you willing to pay for the training course?(and you'll have to)
