What matters is from which college do you earn the accounting degree and do you pass the CPA exam. to take the exam, you have to satisfy the state's requirements Which means a bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited school. Many states require 30 credit hours of business study beyond the bachelors degree. See the reference below. Be aware than online study is not easy. You have to be disciplined and you don't get the explanations and demonstrations that are available in classes. You can't find the CPA examination on the Internet. If you qualify to take the exam, you have to make the arrangements to take it when you have satisfied all the requirements. The exam is administered by the AICPA and you can schedule to take it online when it suits you. It is available during an 8-month period. It consists of four parts and you can take one part at a time.
