  Minors can be important in many ways .... to "fill in" any limitations in your major, to influence your career directions in more specific ways, for simple enjoyment, etc. However, please know that decades of experience strongly suggest that it is best to keep an "open mind" with regard to the choice of a major ... particularly prior to university enrollment. MANY mistakes are made by students, and parents, by a "premature choice" and, particularly, a commitment when you probably have much "maturation" yet to be accomplished and, likely, don't know all of the possibilities. Best to start with the general education courses and explore ... ask questions, see how well you do in various courses, etc.
