Answer:
Hello, thank you for asking your question. I will be happy to assist you, When you say second TV, I am going to assume that this television will not be located in the same room as the receiver. Therefore, it depends on the type of cable you use for your DVD player. TYPES OF CABLES..................................... TV SHOULD BE ON What is most likely in use: --RCA - red, white, and yellow cables..................................... or INPUT --Coaxial - Metal tip that you screw in......................................... 60/73 What is less likely in use: --HDMI - Flat tipped cable...................................... (Looks like it can plug into a computer) (Mainly used for HD DVD players) --Component Five cables total...................................... COMP (Two reds, one white, one green, one blue cable) (Mainly used for HD DVD players) CONNECTING CABLES THROUGH VCR PLAYER: If you are wanting to connect your dish network receiver through the VCR player you have. Then I would recommend connecting the coaxial cable that comes from your wall to the back of your VCR player. Then connect the RCA/HDMI/COMPONENT cable from your VCR player to your television. Thus far, you will need to change your television to the appropriate channel/input according to the information above. After connecting your cables in that order, you shall have a picture appear. (Please note that if you connect your cables in this order, the VCR must be powered on when wanting to watch Dish Network.) CONNECTING CABLES SEPARATELY: Another way to connect your VCR and dish receiver to your second television is by connecting the cables separately. (This method is much more recommended since it causes less confusion altogether.) First, you will want to connect the coaxial cable from the wall directly to your television. Then connect your RCA/HDMI/COMPONENT cables directly from the VCR player to your television. This is available if your second television has two separate ports for each cable altogether. (Most common in newer televisions.) After, connecting your cables in that order, you will have a picture when changing your TV to the appropriate channel/input in the information above. I hope this helps you find a solution! Thanks again.
