Where can I find remote property (off the grid) in Alaska for sale?

I am curious at where I can find out where to obtain property for sale in remote locations in Alaska. I haven't found too much on google, and could use some help. Does anyone have ...show more

Look at a map of Alaska and find small towns. I would look for towns of 400 people or less. Then move in concentric circles from your "starting point". Look for on Goggle or Bing for newspapers closest to these remote area. Check classified ads, ask ask ask Alaska shopkeepers....etc....be friendly but not too friendly or gossipy- just low key. Folks are not only sharing info with you they are sizing you up as a possible future neighbor.
