What can you tell me about Pa?

Some people tell me that I can drive my honda ruckus around town at the age of 15 on public roads in the state of pa.?

  • Some people say I can't. Can someone please tell me If I can or can't cause I won't get one if I can't?

  • Answer:

jon's site states that "In Pennsylvania, a moped is defined as a two-wheeled vehicle with pedals and a motor. The motor must not exceed 50 cc and a capacity of 25 miles per hour." A stock Honda Ruckus can do 35-40 mph. A Honda Ruckus is legally a "motor-driven cycle", a small motorcycle. To ride legally you will need a motorcycle permit or license, which means you need to be at least 16.

The Ruckus is a motor scooter, not a moped. You have to be licensed to ride a motor scooter. A moped has pedals and can be pedaled like a bicycle. It is treated legally like a bicycle, so you can ride it at 15.

Sort of........The Honda Ruckus is fine, but you must be 16 and must have a class C license or higher to operate in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Read more: http://www.ehow.com/list_6322912_moped-laws-driving-pennsylvania.html#ixzz328S3UETf

Check the PA Motor Vehicle Division for the precise rules.
