I am of the old school.We did not have balance tubes.That is the way to get the true sound of duels.Just pipes and mufflers.Any thing that sounds good to you is all that counts.Have at it.

The location of the balance tube does make a difference. Believe the further away from the header's collectors the less effect the addition tube will be.
