How do reference a book from 1712 when your version is a 1976 translated version? Using Harvard referencing.?

    For one thing, you need to find out who the actual publisher was. Barbara Foxley did not publish the translation. She translated the book, apparently about 100 years ago, but she was not the publisher. Various publishing companies have published her translation in the years since then. Look again on the title page or copyright page to find the publisher's name. You'll need that for the citation. The official guide to the Harvard citation system (which your library probably has), or the summary in the Online Writing Lab website at Purdue University, will tell you the format for citing a translation of a foreign-language work.
