Your tech experience will greatly help when taking the bachelor in EE. Like John said, you need to be an engineerto get to take the PE exam, and a lot of companies will require a PE, especially if you want to make decent pay

It is possible, but somewhere as a tech you would need to go to college and get a degree in electrical engineering. Also, you should get a Professional Engineering license in the state where your job is, many jobs require at least the Engineer in Training portion, and the full PE later on. You can take the Engineer in Training test while you are still in college.
