    I don't see a future where cloning is not a necessity due to the amount of land usage that we will need, therefore huge cattle ranches will need to become obsolete, therefore we need to learn how to clone and to do so easily and cheaply so as to stay ahead of our own starvation and **** the opinions of the hippies, if they don't like it let them starve. that's my opinion anyway and anyone says its playing god needs to get with the times, if 'god' wanted something to be beyond our abilities wouldn't they always be beyond them and not just until we're smart enough to over come them, come one if playing god is a possibility god is not a possibility ...

There was the ethical part, whether or not its moral to clone something that wasn't born naturally. Basically, tge question is do we have the right to play god. Another problem is that it has never been done with more complex animals. Suppose dolly lived a few seconds, does that mean scientists should continue knowing that it gave life to an animal for just a few seconds. As you know by now, dolly had a pretty short life span compared to the average life span of a sheep.

Dolly the sheep got poor media coverage due to health problems, which possibly were unrelated to cloning. If modern civilization hangs in there, someone will try cloning a large animal again. Even if it is never cost effective we learn from the attempts.
