No, They never dated, it's a popular misconception, but they've only ever been very close friends. She dated someone throughout season 1, and there was very little time between them breaking up and her getting together with Michael. Kevin actually mentioned at a convention in Australia a few years ago that they stopped interacting publicly because everyone assuming they were dating or asking if they dated and always being on them about dating, made them feel very uncomfortable and they stopped tweeting pictures and tweeting each other and going to events together etc, because of how people acted about them.
