Options for higher studies abroad.

I am a 3rd year bio + manufacturing student at BITS, Pilani. Given that I see my future in higher studies, research thus GATE and GRE being my options, how should I go about building my resume and/or skillset?

  • I would prefer going forward into the mechanical field though I wouldnt mind pursuing interdisciplinary courses i.e bio + eng. Currently apart from knowing basic design softwares, matlab, c etc and a couple of apogee projects my resume is pretty ordinary. During these summers I am trying to learn simulation on ansys along with fea and cfd. What other things should I pursue to build a strong research oriented resume for ms abroad from a good college . I do consider gate to be a good option as well.

I would suggest you to do an internship at an institute this summer since you mentioned that you are inclined towards research. And some extracurricular activity would do good. Also stellar GRE+TOEFL scores would drastically improve your chances of getting into top US universities.For GATE, be thorough with all the concepts in your field. Make a list of recommended books for each subject and start your preparation. Good GATE score and rank will do enough to get you a seat at the IITs/IISc.
