Why do my pictures have a black background when I copy them?

How can I copy and paste pictures from my PowerPoint and Word files into my Quora answers?

• When I copy and paste pictures embedded in ppt, pptx, doc, or docx documents into my Quora answers, the copied pictures disappear. It happens whether I use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer. Thus, I have to save the pictures first on my hard drive and, from there, upload it into my answer using the Quora add picture button. Why should a simple cut-and-paste be tedious and time-consuming? Although I can easily copy and paste pictures from another website into my answer, I usually prefer to use pictures embedded in my own documents.

  It's a little tedious, but you can copy the picture in Word or PowerPoint, then switch to a free graphic program like IrfanView (http://www.irfanview.com/), paste it in there and save it (for example) as a JPG (with a file name) to your desktop. Then click on the little icon with the plus mark (+) in your Quora answer box, click on the "Browse" button, navigate to your desktop, and double-click on the file you just saved.
