What are some challenges regarding distance learning for students?

  One of the biggest challenge for students in distance learning is lack of motivation. Since you work alone without peers, it's often difficult to stay focused and motivated. Another challenge is the inability to practice oral communication skills. Thus mode of learning does not provide for that hence it may not help a student who lacks communication skills. Complex technology, inability to work with various programs and fear of using the internet also possess a big challenge to distance learning students. Problems or disadvantages of distance learning are numerous. They range from the instructor not able to give immediate feedback, students may feel isolated, students are not able to work on their oral communication skills, some courses are not suitable for distance learning, lack of motivation etc.
