Where can I learn to kiteboard in San Francisco?

Dance (activity): How do I learn to pop and lock in San Francisco?

  • I'm living in San Francisco. I'm generally a good dancer but don't have any experience with specific skills. I'm interested in learning how/training to pop and lock and some basic breakdancing skills. I'm fine with laying money but private, recurring classes might be a little steep.

  • Answer:

City Dance Studios. I'm not exactly sure what their schedule is like, but I know they have street dance sessions catered to the funk dances (popping, locking, etc.) on Monday nights I believe, and I'm fairly certain they've got popping classes as well. I'd check their website and facebook. http://www.citydance.org/ https://www.facebook.com/pages/city-dance-studios/253408818624 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Side Note: there is no dance called "pop and lock", that's a misnomer spread by the general public. Popping and locking are two different styles of dance, although they are both based in funk. When most people say "pop and lock" they are generally referring to popping specifically. (There IS however a specific substyle of popping called "poplocking", but to my knowledge it is not widely practiced.)
