How can I make my cat shed less?

    You can brush her. Brush her fur in both directions though. Go up her back to get the lose hair and then go down and it will be in the brush. I don't have a car but I have a dog and that works on her. Good luck!

Yes, older cats shed more and have a more oily type fur. Brush her daily and that is the best you can do.

Bathe and brush her often. Also, keep on top of cleaning your bed sheets weekly so it doesn't get overwhelming. If she is shedding a lot more than she has in the past, you might want to consider bloodwork to rule out thyroid disease. This could cause hair loss. Also, if anything has changed recently, it could be due to stress.

There are many illnesses that can effect a senior cat, such as thyroid that could cause more shedding. Talk to your vet and see if there is anything you can recommend other than maybe lighter colored sheets or keeping her out of your bedroom.
