Why won't PDFs open in Google Chrome?

Did Google Chrome changed programmers?

  • I wonder what happened to Google Chrome. A couple of weeks ago was running perfectly as it always did. Since a week or so, it changed some things that I cannot really undrerstand WHY???. - applications not anymore in the initial page, but in its own page that u can have in the favourites. It was so comfortable :( - still in the initial page, minified the icons. Why? - Sometimes the scrolling bar disappers in the right.. I'm quite sure it's ok, it's a bug and it will be fixed. Waiting for it. - Today it doesn't want to download pdfs, from different sources, while from Firefox it does it normally. - So much slower startup. And when I recover it is locked for like half a minute. GImme back my gchrome!! :'(

  • Answer:

Design decisions are rarely made by programmers. I bet that these changes were made with tons of thought by the UX team, considering how various people use it to improve experiences for as many people as possible. You'll probably get used to it in a couple of days and find that it's better than before, if not, you can always submit some feedback. They like that. http://xkcd.com/1172/
