I would first spend some time at the Reading Terminal Market to sample the farm-fresh produce and fresh-made baked goods. I might have a cookie from Famous 4th Street, though I warn you there's like a stick of butter in each. For breakfast I would go to Parc (18th and Locust), sit outside at a table facing Rittenhouse Square, and have eggs with a basket of great breads. For lunch I would go to Zama  (19th near Sansom) and enjoy the most imaginative Japanese food in the city. For dinner I would go to Ela (3rd and Bainbridge) for its great new American fare, making sure to order the chopped kale salad. If I were on the east side of town, I would check out the restaurants on 2nd Street (Stella, 2nd and Lombard, for thin-crust pizza; The Twisted Tail across the street for great bar food, Las Bugambilias at 2nd and South for traditional Mexican and Mustard Greens at 2nd and Bainbridge for wonderful Cantonese. I'd go to Federal Doughnuts in South Philly (south 2nd near Reed) for fresh-baked doughnuts, Sweet Freedom on South between 15th and 16th for gluten-free and nut-free baked goods.
