    I didn't studied abroad, I do deal with a lot of colleagues, clients and friends who did. I can tell that going abroad makes a great experience and in most cases it makes a huge difference not only in a professional sense but in the personal side as well. My first impression is that it has to do not only with seeing other cultures but also the independence "forced" onto you once you are away from your environment and your support system, namely: parents, friends, lovers, etc.

I agree with you! Especially with your part of answer about independence.... I went from my country to France, for 6 months, it was my first time living so far from my parents, my country,...Its incredibly great experience, its hard sometimes, because you have to deal with a lot of things... Accommodation, paying bills, learning new language, new people, friends, food,... But it all worth when you found after all what you achieved. And from my perspective, its really interesting how much energy and motivation you are able to find to deal with all new problems, issues and goals in another environment. When you know that you are alone and only one who can solve it. And, of course, meeting and connecting with new people from all around the world is the best part of living abroad.
