In most places, there is no such thing as a "general business license" or a "home business license". Sometimes individual cities require one. Certain industries may require an industry-specific license, and you will also need to file a certificate of assumed name. You may also need an EIN, and may have to file as an LLC or Subchapter S, depending on how you are setting up. None of these are "licenses". More info: http://www.sos.ks.gov/business/business.html

If operating exclusively out of the home, then home business license. If you sell things online or do ANYTHING outside of the home, General license too.
