  Isn't that a bit obvious?... The parents speak Spanish to the kid, most kids will go to kindergarten, watch TV and go to school, meaning, socialize with the locals from an early age in the country's language, that's how they learn the local language. It's easier to pick the local language than the other because usually parents don't teach in-depth their languages, so the kid will tend to speak better the local language.
