  You already got him a myriad of gifts, past and present; my question to you, would be: has he returned your demonstrations of love and affection? If the gift giving is one sided, I would cool it and reconsider all the humongous thought and effort you put into gift giving; if he reciprocates, that's great! If you wish to continue, here is a new idea for you: create little notes, each with a birthday message of love and well wishes; place them strategically around the house, each pointing to the other. At the place of the last note, will be your gift. Not an overwhelming cornucopia of many, but one, single treasure. Or: my then husband to be loves beer, but seldom spends a lot on himself, for this or anything else. For months, I collected an exotic bottle or two of beers from all around the world, until I had...a HUNDRED of them! (Know the song, "A hundred bottles of beer on the wall" ? We lived in an apartment/condo complex of seven buildings (not together). I ran a string all around the buildings, for what seemed a mile! He then had to follow the string, until it led to my table, where all the beer, each wrapped with a blue ribbon, was arranged in a huge heart. He loved it.
