How did you get into an ivy league school?

How can I get inti a Ivy League school if I'm homeschooled?

  • I will be 16 next year, so I will be taking my GED then go to commumity college for my associates degree, but how can I improve my chances of getting into an Ivy League?

    Plenty of home-schoolers have done it. You'll need to do very, very well on your tests, and you'll need to take the SAT I, SAT II, and I'd advise a few AP exams. You'll also need some REALLY interesting and unusual activities, to stand out. You need to appear unique. Are you hoping to transfer into an Ivy for your junior and senior year after earning an Associate's degree? Please note that the Ivies take very few transfers and some take none. They wouldn't be likely to accept all of your community college credits. I think you should apply for the whole four year bachelor's program. If money is an issue, be advised that the Ivies offer extremely generous financial aid packages, because they are the best-endowed schools in the nation. I attended two of them and got great aid. At some you don't even have to take out loans and can attend for free if your family income is below a certain level.

To get in a Ivy League School, you must work your a** off. You must average a 3.8 to 4.0 GPA to have a chance to be accepted. Other than that,good luck, work very,very hard and sacrifice alot of things to achieve your goal.

Study for your SAT or ACT and do well. Think of taking the lead in a volunteer project. Document your activities in a portfolio and write up your success. You could do this through and organization such as Scouts, your church, or Habitat for Humanity. Be able to show your academic excellence with some exemplary sample work.
