Would I get in trouble for selling t-shirts with college football players' names on the back?
-
Let's say I started a company that sold t shirts with the names and numbers of players on the back and maybe an image on the front of them with the logos and names of the team edited out. Would I get in trouble and not be able to sell them? I wouldn't be using any of the team names so I wouldn't deal with licensing. If anything, I could set aside a portion of the money sold for each player into a fund and give that to them once their eligibility is up or they leave college for the NFL. That way it doesn't break any NCAA rules.
