    You did not tell us which Sony camcorder - though it may not matter, exactly. I have a Sony HDR-HC1, HDR-FX1 and NEX-EA50UH. On their chargers, it says the "AC in ~ 100-240 V 50/60Hz - 18 W" The issue is not the charger, but the plug that goes into the mains in the wall. You need to get from the 2-blade US plug to the 2 or 3 round prongs for India. It discusses only changing the cable/plug. There is nothing about using a different power supply.
