Is World Charity Organisation a real Organisation?

Will there ever be the possibility of a single unified charity organisation in the world?

  • This could be something far into the future and I am not necessarily thinking within the next ten to twenty years. The idea being that a single large organisation would distribute funds received accordingly and deal with where and what the funds would go towards. Of course, I am simplifying a very large and potentially complex system that theoretically would have a large amount of control over something immensely delicate. I simply would like to hear from others as to whether this could be plausible idea and whether potential positives could outweigh the negatives. This being compared to the current system of hundreds of smaller self funded charities as well as a handful of larger ones.

  • Answer:

No. Not unless the world turns into a single communist state. In which case this single charity would simply be the government. People do not agree on what are worthwhile issues. And they certainly don't agree on their prioritize room. Leukemia research and clean water for third world countries are both worthy of charity, but the father of a leukemia patient is going to want a say in where his money is going.

I doubt it. People generally care where their money goes and what it's spent on. There are people who would fund Catholic charities who wouldn't fund Planned Parenthood and vice versa.
