Why do some people's Facebook chat names show 'last active' numbers?
-
On my Facebook chat list, some people I can see exactly when they last were on Facebook, while others I cannot. Why is this? Can I turn this setting off for my account such that people can't tell when I last checked Facebook?
-
Answer:
Because they have the mobile applications âFacebook & Messengerâ. These use the âTime Stampâ feature which results in showing the âActive Nowâ , âActive N minutes/Hours ago - N is a numberâ and âLast active onâ.

You can see last active 2m ago or something similar to this but not with exact time like Whatsapp does. Messenger app tracks your last seen and sets this as your last active, you can only see last active for those people who are using Facebook messenger. If you want to turn off this setting for your account, Open messenger on the top you'll see 4 Icons, Tap on to the 3 Icon left to settings icon, Under this tab you'll now see 2 More tabs, "Messenger" "Active" Tap on Active where you'll see your Name Turn it off.

I think those numbers are only for messenger users. they won't display any number for the users who access facebook through Laptop or PC.
