Could Quora's Answer Wiki be a blueprint for improving comment sections on news sites?

Answer:
Fascinating idea and, I think, worth pursuing in some form. I've thrown the idea out for discussion in our shop. I think it could work with a combination of users and news site staff creating/curating/etc. the content. I like Quora's guidelines on answer wikis.
