How can I make the most of my college experience?

I would say the best thing you can do is learn about yourself and understand what your passions and interests are. You should be able to have a clear idea of the work you want to do and what you want to achieve when you graduate. If you know exactly the goal you want to achieve or the job title you want, then it becomes much easier to discover and leverage resources at your university. The best part about being at a University is simply the title of student. very few students understand the power of saying "I'm a student". This will often open doors that are otherwise very difficult. For example, say you want to work at a local business when you graduate. It would be easy to come up with an excuse to write about them for a project. You can call them up and say "hey I'm a student and I'm wiring about your business fora project" They'll likely be thrilled, they'll show you around the business and take you out to lunch. you'll be able to network and make connections that will be valuable when you graduate. Another easy win like this is finding people you want to connect with (authors, entrepreneurs, celebrities) and inviting them to speak at your university. There's often 1,000's of dollars available to run events like this. This is a huge win if you can pull this off, you connect with an awesome person, you get big funding from your uni while others are wasting their time applying for a $500 scholarship. And you get a reputation as someone who can bring interesting people to your university. If you do these things, you'll have an amazing network and lots of good experiences to reflect on. These are 5 steps you must undertake to make the best of your college life. 1. Do drugs I can't emphasise enough on this. This teaches you money mismanagement, extreme time wastage, and a guilt and self loathing that will never wash off. Bingo! 2. Don't study Some people sometimes forget this and study a little bit. That is normal and happens to the best of us. But you must persevere. It's okay to pass in a few subjects at first and later on anyway as the drug addiction kicks in, you need not worry at all! 3. No classes Classes=attendance=regularity Getting detained is what you must aim for, solves all of your problems in a snap. 4. Anti social Make sure you're not on good terms with your professors, peers, or seniors. This leads to added exposure and a sense of responsibility, and that's never, never too good for you. 5. Fall for your best friend Last but definitely not the least, falling in love with your best friend will mentally break you into a million little pieces. This will seal the deal for any activity you may wish to commence. Make sure you see him every living second of your college life to deepen the wound to the point of no return. You're welcome. You may now die unemployed with cats.

Spiritually? - Be quintessentially curious, keep the  sense of wonder alive and never stop asking "why". This will transform into almost a spiritual experience. Academically? - Learn to learn. Learn that will help you be a lifelong learner Logistically? - Internalize knowing EXACTLY how long 60 seconds take, EXACTLY how long 60 minutes take and knowing how long your tasks will take and execute them. Rinse and repeat. Experience these as a part of college and they'll help you get most out of those years and more. They'll stand by you all through your life.

Don't spend all of your time studying. Find a balance between work and fun. College is at least as much about learning to be an adult in a relatively safe environment as it is about book learnin'.

I'm going to suggest study, but, you knew that.  this the time for the experiment of life to begin. don't forget to have fun, and enjoy the experience.  make friends. ..some people call them contacts. join strange things....that yoga club or the midnight movie madness clan. take a strange course. philosophy of sufism, weather. sure, get an internship in your field, but learn what you can if you have to bag hamburgers. oh, and call mom once in a while.

Make lot of friends. Have few close friends. Learn to live on your own. Other than financial aspect, do not expect others to help with you. If you need financial assistance, you can take up part time jobs. Do some volunteering with your friends. It will improve your organizing skills and develop you as a team player. Lead (or take part) some activities in your department or college. Like organizing a conference or symposium. Learn basics from all the subjects. Do not develop hatred for any subject. It will help you to do specialization in particular field later. Start preparing for CAT from early, since you want to pursue MBA in future. Read good newspaper to improve your knowledge in current affairs and language. Despite all these, have lot of fun. Travel, Movies, Party, Sports. Do not miss out any. You will long for your college days to come back in future!!!

Do your own research. Challenge classmates and especially yourself if there is anything you question. Follow up with your instructors to inquire more about a particular topic that may interest you. Engage! Try to enjoy these years.Embrace others’ opinionsSome of the most important lessons I’ve learned during my college years has been through the interaction with classmates, especially classmates I don’t necessarily agree with on varying levels. I’ve had many great discussions with people whose political affiliations and philosophies were on the complete opposite end of my spectrum. However, our conversations were never aggressive and, with the exception of one or two discussions, everyone involved respected and embraced others’ opinions. Many of us actually went home and researched certain points made by other classmates, because it sparked an interest. With college groups and individual students making headlines nowadays regarding a myriad of issues; I would really like to encourage you to embrace others’ opinions. I am not saying you have to agree with them or be tolerant to the point that it jeopardizes your own convictions and beliefs; I am merely saying that I believe having rich discussions is an important part of the college experience.Good luck! Go in with an open mind.  Use your first two years as a time to explore and truly engage in subjects that you may think are out of your wheelhouse.  You may find something unexpected that you are very passionate about. When you choose a major get to know your advisor and other professors in the dept well.  You may be surprised to learn how much they can help you find an internship or job or just help you get the classes you need to graduate on time.  I will do almost anything in my power to help a student who has demonstrated a passion for the industry and a strong work ethic.
