How can I find sales and marketing companies?

Do companies (India specifically) prefer selecting freshers (just out of undergrad and postgrad consecutively) over experienced people (different field) in the field of Sales and Marketing?

• I already am into analytics(not really consulting as such but yes pretty much analytics consulting) and I want to switch to marketing/sales after MBA. Would a fresher be given preference over me, by any firm? (This is keeping aside people who have prior experience in Marketing/sales)

  When you have an undergrad degree like an engg degree with , then getting a job in Marketing or Social Media analytics will be much easier than getting a lucrative role in Business Development/Marketing. Doing a post grad in this field will definitely make switching paths in Marketing easier. Also, it will easier to choose you over an undergrad with no post graduation. Marketing has various facets and offers plethora of options. You can work as 1. Account Executives in Ad agencies 2. Research executives to study consumer behavior for a brand or conduct research on people from different backgrounds 3. Brand planning or management 4. Digital marketing for an agency or a brand in specific 5. Sales roles in FMCG, technology or e-commerce. Getting a degree would be a good approach since experimenting after that will give you more choice in options. I too am a beginner and looking for options in the same direction. This was just a brief of what I received in the couple of interviews I was called for - We need people with atleast basic skills for this field..Either experience or a relevant study background. As an employer, it makes sense from their perspective. Hope this was helpful :)
