Can you get into Yale from the UK?

I am Syrian. I am married to UK husband. My baby born in uk can i get UK passport ?

  • My baby has a UK passport. As my baby and husband both have UK passports i would also like UK passport. I have been resident in UAE for the past 12 years.

  • Answer:

Children inherit the full Citizenship(s) of their parents, (and therefore may gain more than one) A child born to a UK citizen (mother or father) in UK is a UK Citizen Even if they are born abroad to a UK citizen, they are usually a UK citizen (the case where it does not happen, is if the parent got their citizenship that way - by Descent abroad, so therefore gradchildren do not get it endlessly) Wikipedia : British citizenship by birth in the United Kingdom http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_nationality_law#British_citizenship_by_birth_in_the_United_Kingdom If the child was born in the UK, then before leaving apply in the UK If the child has already left (on Syrian passport), then apply via the embassy in the country where you are resident. NB: make sure you use the best passport to enter a country, It is the passport/Visa you use to enter a country that gives you your status there - not any that you may also hold. eg. Enter as a Syrian as a visitor into the UK/EU, then you are a visitor. No, it doesn't work that way. First, in order to get a British passport, you must have British citizenship. Second, in order to get British citizenship you must first have the status of Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) and be resident in the UK for 5 years. To get ILR you must first have a spouse visa. As you live in the UAE you do not qualify for any of the above. You would have to move to the UK on a spouse visa with your husband and be resident on that visa for 5 years then apply for ILR. Then you could apply for citizenship. Then you could get a passport. Your baby acquired British citizenship from your husband. However, you should know that the baby is categorized as "British by descent", having been born abroad. That means that when he/she grows up and has children, any children born outside the UK will NOT be British citizens as citizenship is only transmitted one generation outside of the country.

Being married to a UK citizen, doesn't give you citizenship, having a child born in the UK doesn't give you citizenship, your child only has citizenship because of its fathers nationality and living in UAE will never get you citizenship, so the answer is no you can't get citizenship and without that you can't apply for a passport

What kind of a women is called Ewan?

Ewan

No. You need to live in the UK with your husband for 3 years and apply for naturalisation. There is no other way. Being married to a British citizen only makes it quicker - otherwise it would have to be 5 years.

You have been resident in UAE for past 12 years? how do you plan on getting a British Passport living in UAE. If you are living in UK you would have to sit the Test for Life before any chance of passport, Good Luck
